New World: Aeternum Support
Input lag is how long it takes (in milliseconds) for a monitor or TV to react after a command from your keyboard, mouse, or controller.
Troubleshooting for Input Lag
Check the New World Known Issues page.
Switch to a wired keyboard and mouse, or controller. A switch ensures that wireless latency or interference isn't a factor in your situation. If switching to wired doesn't improve your input latency, you can switch back to your preferred peripherals.
Set VSync to OFF for the lowest possible input latency.
Try lowering your in-game video settings. Lowering video settings may reduce input lag.
Note: If you're using a monitor and GPU that supports Nvidia's G-SYNC or AMD's FreeSync, we suggest using this functionality instead of disabling VSync. While disabling VSync results in the lowest input latency, it could also cause screen tearing. Screen tearing is a visual artifact that can occur when the video feed isn't in sync with the display's refresh rate.
