As the summer of 2025 kicks off, it’s the perfect time to look back at some of the biggest Amazon Games activity over the past quarter. This includes the reveal of “Create Mode” for upcoming title King of Meat, as well as new updates for THRONE AND LIBERTY, New World: Aeternum, Lost Ark, and much more.

Unleashing Player Creativity: Create Mode Unveiled for Upcoming King of Meat

At June’s Summer Game Fest, Amazon Games and development partner Glowmade gave media and creators a fresh sneak peek at upcoming title King of Meat. With plenty of novel aspects and features defining this co-op party platformer, coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch, this latest showcase focused on the game’s dynamic “Create Mode.” Developed to be as accessible as possible for everyone, Create Mode enables players to build the most insane, devious dungeons they can imagine, packed with puzzles, objectives, weird traps, and unique visuals for other contenders to face. THRONE AND LIBERTY introduces all-new, 12-player raid

In June, THRONE AND LIBERTY players were treated to the game’s first 12-player raid—Altar of Calanthia. In this exciting new content, the witch Calanthia is gathering power through her use of forbidden magic and necromancy, and players must group together in teams of 12 to stop her plans of destruction. The raid is designed to appeal to both casual and hardcore players, with multiple tiers of difficulty and engaging gameplay mechanics that will reward those who master the unique challenges this content offers. In a detailed video from the Amazon Games team, fans can dive deep into the lore, design, and structure of the Altar of Calanthia raid.

Lost Ark Welcomed Three New Updates as Heroes of Arkesia Explored a New Land, New Events and a Look at the Future

The quarter wrapped up with the Lost Ark Team unveiling Part 3 of the game’s 2025 roadmap, which introduced all the updates coming soon for players. For the April Update, players were treated to events such as Storm the Abyss, Kazeros Raid: Act 3, and the Golden Frog Event, among others. May introduced the Abyssal Assault Update, which allowed Heroes of Arkesia to explore the Mysterious new Land of Rimeria, inhabited by the noble Yoz tribe. Finally, the June Update welcomed Yornujan Island along with the new Stylebook and screenshot storage systems, in addition to adjustments to Epic and Kazeros Raids.

New World: Aeternum Launched Season 8, “Season of the Divide”

In mid-May, the New World: Aeternum team launched the second new season of 2025, Season of the Divide. Otherwise known as Season 8, Season of The Divide brought with it new content and changes to reshape player-versus-player (PvP) battles, expeditions, progression, and so much more. These included new PvP modes/combat overhauls and events such as Capture the Flag and Outpost Rush, and other additions, such as Expeditions Unleashed and the opportunity to face level 70 world bosses and Barbershop Tokens.

New Episode of Meet the Makers

Finally, Amazon Games added to its Meet the Makers video series with the latest episode featuring Holly Wescott, Accessibility Lead at Amazon Games. For viewers, Holly shares insights into the world of accessibility and the many ways in which Amazon Games is enabling customizable experiences in games to best serve a wider audience of players. Holly recently participated as a featured panelist at the annual GamesBeat Summit in May, where she joined executives from the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), Xbox, and others for the insightful discussion: Accessibility in Gaming Lunch: Breaking Down Accessibility Barriers, How the Industry is Redefining How We Play.
